UAVET PROJECT CLOSING CONFERENCE SUCCESSFULLY HELD
The closing conference for the "Development of Vocational Skills for Electro-Mechanical Technicians for UAV Maintenance and Repair" (UAVET) Project, which was carried out by Balıkesir University (BAÜN) Edremit School of Civil Aviation and supported by the Turkish National Agency within the scope of Erasmus+ KA220 Vocational Education Cooperation, was held at the Afrodit Thermal Hotel on December 11, 2025. The conference commenced with a speech by Prof. Dr. Abdullah Soykan. Following this, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Seyhun Durmuş provided information about the project outputs and gave presentations on UAV technology, as well as maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting processes. Within the program, Dr. Gülaçtı Şen (Assistant Professor) shared details on UAV legislation and pilot requirements. The event, which saw great interest from students of Edremit Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, who are future technician candidates, concluded after a project evaluation where thanks were extended to the school principal Ertan Çınar and the contributing teachers. During the closing remarks, the importance of strengthening cooperation between the university and vocational and technical high schools was emphasized, and it was stated that the UAVET Project made a significant contribution to Turkey's qualified human resources in the field of UAV technicianship.
