Edremit School of Civil Aviation's EKS Authorization Strengthens Students' Airport Internship Process
Approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (SHGM) as a Training Resource Provider (EKS), the Edremit School of Civil Aviation at Balıkesir University continues to successfully prepare its students for airport internships in a manner that is safe, competent, and fully compliant with regulations.
Within this framework, the security awareness training sessions and examinations required to obtain an apron pass have been completed for Aviation Management students ahead of their internships at the State Airports Authority (DHMİ) Edremit Kocaseyit Airport. This process, a prerequisite for working in airport operational areas and beginning the internship, was carried out efficiently thanks to the School's EKS authorization and its coordinated work with DHMİ Edremit Kocaseyit Airport.
Having successfully completed the training, the students began their internships at DHMİ Edremit Kocaseyit Airport on 29 June 2026, following the completion of the necessary procedures.
This development once again demonstrates that the Edremit School of Civil Aviation is not merely an academic unit offering theoretical instruction, but a strong aviation education institution that prepares its students in line with the safety culture, operational discipline, and professional requirements of the industry.
With its SHGM-approved EKS role, the School continues to contribute to training the qualified workforce the aviation sector needs and to support its students through applied education that brings them into direct contact with the industry.
